From Dawn To Midnight, With Two Days Of Snow In Between

The Alps, March 2010

"How was the first skiing experience, kid ?"
"Unreal. It will take me a long time to get back to reality now..."
"It'll get worse, you'll see what happens next year when the first flakes of snow start falling during December, all you'll be thinking about is "skiing time"."

It's just a perpetual Ride, isn't it ? From dawn to midnight, from snow storm to sun, from home to abroad, from midnight to dawn.

She's Got A Grip

"You do know your sense of humor sucks, don't you ?"
"I wasn't even joking !"
"That's the worst thing about it."

She knows how to exaggerate. And her way of making everyone around panic-stricken or excited, when she herself remains calm, is just fascinating. She estimates everything before actually doing it, her composure could make a decent psychologist out of her. If she wasn't already way too far gone into her world of gloss.

Blow My Mind Away

I was sleep deprived and comfortably numb as it happens, when the new song showed up. I left a chance to surprise me, even though I heard it before. I know the ones who know me like to surprise me, because I normally react like a little kid on Christmas day.

Sometimes we prefer imitating ignorance to disappointing someone, even a little bit.
Sometimes we need to forget we are independent to embrace someone's gentle care.
Sometimes we just refuse not to see through Diamond Eyes.

How often, but how often we tend to pretend...
It's wearisome.

Boys&Girls

Ouch. Tricky subject. Woman - to the kitchen, now ! Don't you dare stop your man from watching football with beer, if you don't want to be sacrificed to Wayne Rooney right in front of your own TV in your own living room. Whenever female creatures get caught with a spanner, a cigarette or, back to square one, listening to hard rock, it often freaks men out. The topic of women driving has become a platitude, for instance. Moreover, there will always be two things no man will admit he cannot do well : drive and make love. Oh, that state of blissful ignorance for both of us, my boy... Let's just stay there.

Right Song At A Right Time

Aaron Lewis

Often songs stay chained to some particular event or feeling. And every time you hear them afterwards, you either smile... Or wince. Or turn them off and then delete them from your playlist. Yet there is a couple of songs that sort of enter into you and then adapt to whatsoever state you're in. They heal. They numb you for a while, leaving you alone with yourself and no one else. They are just like Novocaine.

Overture

Somehow I always find myself relating songs to real life. Everything that happens around me, every single remotely significant event, such as simply Waking Up, holding someone's Hand or getting Closer to something... to someone... Everything would eventually find its way in some song. Or at least, used to. Before I got damaged. Before I got numb. Before I died. Before I refused to fight, before I gave up hope, and dreams, and music, and laughs, and love, and life itself. I was just about to follow what I thought was the light at the end of the tunnel... The tunnel that lead to nowhere. Enough for the prelude now, I suppose, forget about the details, who wants to know the details anyway? Details are tasteless.
One night, March it was, I was faking jokes while "revising" hard for Histoire Juridique (God, now THAT was quite a story!)... and then all of a sudden I discovered Staind.
